The Japan Arts Matsuri is an exciting and
unique event dedicated to Japanese art, culture and tradition.
It is composed of a wide variety of live performances. This
event is a forum for talented Japanese artists and performers
in all genres, showcasing both traditional and modern artworks.
The Japan Arts Matsuri introduces the New York public to the
riches of the Japanese art world.
Appearing at the JAM 2006 will be: guest performers from Tokyo;
a performance of Sleeping Beauty by the Faune Dance
Troupe; Taiko Drumming and Wushu by TAIKO MALASA; Spinnin
Ronin Tate (a Japanese sword battle play) b y
Brave Season “BASARA” of Japan; violin solos by
Yu Manabe; comedy drama by HIU Shudan; and more TBA.
The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs has recognized the
contributions of Japan Arts Matsuri and Faune Dance Troupe and
invited them to participate in the second and third Annual Immigrant
History Weeks, 2005 and 2006, coordinated by the Mayor’s
Office of Immigrant Affairs.
