David Dubal, noted broadcaster and popular lecturer, will
chronicle the love affair between Poland's greatest composer
and one of France's most original writers, in the context of
their artistic milieu. Featuring music performances and discussion.

David Dubal is internationally known
as a pianist, teacher, writer and broadcaster. An acknowledged
authority on piano literature, Mr. Dubal's books are highly
acclaimed and have been translated into Chinese, Japanese, German,
etc. He has also written numerous articles in journals, liner
notes, and CD booklets for the Nimbus Grand Piano Series. Mr.Dubal
is a faculty member of the Juilliard School and the Manhattan
School of Music; he has conducted master-classes worldwide,
lectured globally, and judged many international competitions,
including several recitals at the Van Cliburn competitions.
He has performed in recitals and recital-lectures in 40 states
and in all the major concert halls in New York City.
David Dubal's video "The Golden Age of the Piano" won
an Emmy award. He presented a multi-media show on Horowitz for
Steinway and Sons using Horowitz's piano, and his compact disc "Remembering
Horowitz" featured performances by Dubal and 125 pianists
in honor of the legendary pianist. David Dubal has won numerous
honors for broadcast journalism and can be heard every Wednesday
on WQXR as host of the program "Reflections from the Keyboard".
Mr. Dubal won the Major Armstrong Award for "Aaron Copland
Comments" and the six hour series "Conversation with
Horowitz". |
