Notice: Due to difficulties with obtaining artist visas for the Varsovia Piano Trio from Poland the program for this event has been changed. We appologize for the inconvenience.

Atma Trio

Three artistic individualities of Atma Trio are united not only in their love for chamber music but also in their musical temperaments and interpretations. Although they hail from different cultures, the values they discover in music are universal. They are described by critics as "excellent musicians who truly know what it means to play chamber music" and broke many audience attendance records during their artistic tours.

Varsovia Piano Trio

They perform in the United States, Poland, Germany and Sweden and are invited to participate in many prestigious festivals, including Days of Szymanowski's Music in Zakopane, the Chopinesque Confrontations in Chopin Center in Antonin, International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Slupsk, International Musical Art Institute Festival in Fryeburg, Maine,  Mozart Festival in Poznan and many others.

The artists began their collaboration as students. Slawomir Dobrzanski, pianist, and Blanka Bednarz, violinist, performed as a duo during their studies at the University of Kansas. Blanka and cellist/husband Cheung Chau met at the New England Conservatory, while pursuing doctoral studies. With pianist Miles Goldberg, the two collaborated for several years under the banner of Huntington Piano Trio, presenting concerts, among others, at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts .

Art Installation by Yanusz Gilewicz

Yanusz Gilewicz was born into an artistic family and has been devoted to painting since early childhood. His grandfather was his first art teacher and his inspiration. In Italy he made a close study of the painting methods of Leonardo da Vinci. His international work, especially in Japan, has led him to develop an artistic symbiosis of Eastern and Western cultures; he has worked in the United States, South America, Europe and Australia as well as Japan, His expertise includes interior designs, custom-made frescos, trompe l’oeil, and decorative surface finishes. In his interior work he is best known for “Golden Fish Pond,” a trompe l’oeil painting on a wooden floor. This painting creates a remarkable illusion of fish swimming in a pond of water. “My desire is to express mystery through art, triggering recognition within the viewer. The painting becomes the mirror reflecting the artist, beyond boundaries of race, religion, politics, economics and language,” explains Gilewicz. His works are in the private collections of many American and international corporations, of fashion designers, of movie stars and producers, and of such luminaries as Pope John Paul II, Federico Fellini and Sylvio Berlusconi. Among h is most recent works are the exterior panels of the Europa Club, where every Sunday NYDAI presents Art Nights.
